Castlers Auctions

The modern auction partner for stock at scale

Castlers is a technology-led auction house in the East of England, moving high volumes of customer returns and surplus stock through competitive online auctions with transparent, market-led pricing.

Built for volume

A purpose-built operational system for stock at scale

Our seller and processing systems were developed in-house around a single job: moving large volumes of stock efficiently from intake through to auction.

We already have substantial operational experience processing customer returns and surplus inventory sourced through authorised retailer and marketplace liquidation channels, including trailer-load volumes across technology, tools, home improvement, furniture, and other consumer categories.

Stock is received, catalogued, and brought to auction through repeatable processing cycles designed to support high-volume throughput without sacrificing listing quality or bidder service.

Operations scale with your volumes, whether that’s a one-off clearance or a standing weekly consignment.

Reputation

Trust that reduces bidder uncertainty

Every lot at Castlers is sold as seen. That model depends on bidder trust, particularly when selling customer returns and mixed-condition stock. Clear condition reporting, transparent fees, and responsive after-sale support reduce uncertainty and allow bidders to price that risk with greater confidence.

Secondary-market data

Turning secondary-market sales into useful data

Traditional liquidation reporting often stops at what the stock sold for. Because our operational and seller systems are developed in-house, we can go further: for high-volume partners, we can build reporting fields, workflows, and dashboards around the information they want to recover from the secondary market.

Lot preparation

Cataloguing built for price discovery

Every lot goes through consistent, structured preparation: a four-step process designed to give bidders better information and support stronger price discovery.

01

Inspect

Every consignment is checked for auction suitability, with appropriate due diligence applied to the product category. Items identified as unsafe, restricted, or potentially counterfeit are removed from the sale route. All but a small fraction of stock proceeds to auction following these checks; the controls are there to protect the seller, our bidders, and the sale.

02

Test & service

Limited functional testing where practical, plus servicing where it makes commercial sense, so items reach auction in the best condition they can reasonably be offered in.

03

Photograph

Multiple photographs showing key angles, included contents, and visible condition, backed by clear condition notes.

04

Enrich

AI-assisted enrichment supports model identification, specifications, and listing consistency, while condition and suitability decisions remain subject to human review.

Demand generation

Marketing that finds your buyers

Competitive auction results depend on reaching buyers who understand the category and the condition of the stock. We build that audience, sector by sector.

Sector-targeted campaigns

Every auction runs as a timed sale, with lots open for bidding for 10–14 days, time we use to run dedicated ad campaigns for each retail sector we sell, from tech and tools to home improvement and furniture.

Regular bidder communities

A large, loyal base of returning bidders that we keep engaged through our own channels: regular updates on upcoming sales, and targeted email campaigns informed by previous participation and purchasing behaviour, so relevant stock is promoted to buyers already active in that category.

Market-led pricing

By the time a timed auction closes, every lot has had up to two weeks of exposure, giving it time to build competition and establish a transparent market price.

Working with us

The partnership, at a glance

Everything above, in one view: what you get from day one, and what can be built around your programme.

Castlers Auctions
Your company
  • Live visibility of every consignment through the in-house Seller Portal: tracking, statements, and payments.
  • An established bidder community with a 72% repeat rate, built on transparent, as-seen selling.
  • Reporting, workflows, and API access that can be built around your programme.
  • Defined handling controls for data-bearing devices, product safety, and restricted categories, with additional programme-specific requirements agreed where necessary.
  • Resale keeps suitable stock in circulation, while items that cannot responsibly be resold are handled through the appropriate disposal route.
  • Intake at our Colchester operation with collection available for larger consignments, from one-off clearances to standing weekly flows.

Commercial terms are transparent and structured around the stock profile, expected volumes, and operational requirements of each programme.

Start with a controlled pilot

A partnership does not need to begin with a major commitment. We can start with a defined volume of stock, agree the processing and reporting requirements in advance, and measure sell-through, recovery, turnaround, and operational performance before scaling the programme.

Tell us about the stock profile, expected volumes, and what you want from the programme, and we’ll come back within one business day.
